Wedding Wednesday {Fly away with me}

I've always believed a beautiful purpose of weddings is putting your love out there in the world, spreading those extra good feelings to everyone else.  Which is why I'm totally in lust over today's idea, flying paper lanterns!  These mini lanterns work similarly to a hot air balloon and are fairly easy to make once you get a handle on the first few (and don't worry they use fire retardant paper to be totally safe.)  Think about your venue, is there an open space away from tree's or houses to get full worry free effect of these lanterns?  Of course, trusty e-how has detailed instructions on how to make these pretty babies here.  A cute idea would be guest writing notes of good luck and well wishes to Bride and Groom on the paper!
What other things have you seen released at weddings? balloons? birds? butterflies?
Xox,
A~

  2. I love this idea, it's actually on my list of favorite "send offs"

    BTW Anonymous, you're a buzz kill, it's paper, it's not like it's some toxic material.

    I would love to have this and I plan on it. It would be such a memorable moment for ANYONE that sees it. Making myself and others around me happy

  6. Adding on to my last comment about it being a cute idea. I just wonder (it was kind of referred to) Is it possible that it could start a fire? (like forest fire) That would be my only worry.

  10. We bought ours at www.eventlanterns.com, they say they are 100% biodegradable & flame retardant. Totally safe and a huge hit at our wedding. Hope that helps. :)
