~Tea Time~

For Christmas this year my lovely aunt got me tea from the Silk Road Tea Company.  It's called the Philosopher's brew and consists of lemongrass, citrus peel, rosehips, and lavender blossoms.  The best part, and the part I will share with you today, is the recipe it came with for Sangria!  You could substitute any similar flavoured herbal loose tea of course, and there are lots of delicious little tea shops with tons of different varieties of tea in the lower mainland.

Philosopher's Sangria
1 tsp Philosopher's brew loose tea
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup heated white grape juice
1 cup heated Gewurztraminer white wine
heatprood glasses or champagne flute
cranberries, thinly sliced grapes, citrus fruit or starfruit for garnish

Pour 1/2 cup boiling water over loose tea and steep for 7-10 minutes, combine brewed tea, heated juice and heated wine serve in glasses or champagne flutes and garnish as you like!

*optional
you can make iced tea sangria by chilling above recipe til cold then combining in large pitcher.

Happy Brewing!
